A beautiful home in Rockland County deserves a pool. Having a pool of your own makes all the difference when it comes to having fun and improving the aesthetics of your property. You can take a vacation right in your backyard.
There are a number of pool options you can choose from, and enough variety for you to find something that suits your taste and personality.
Inground pools are built right into the ground. They can be designed to fit any shape or size yard and fit your specific needs from fitness swimming to water polo. They are easily designed into the landscape. There are three types of in-ground pools:
Fiberglass is a reinforced plastic material composed of glass fibers embedded in a resin matrix. The surface of a fiberglass pool is literally non-porous because it has a gelcoat. Fiberglass pools are ready-made at the manufacturer and delivered in one piece. This makes installation much easier so that it can be done in about two days’ time.
Concrete pools are built onsite. It takes longer and is costlier to build but you can custom design it into any shape, size and depth you want. This works out well for those who want deeper or larger pools.
Vinyl pools are built with panel walls that are fastened together and sit together on a concrete foundation. A custom-made vinyl liner then covers the entire pool. Vinyl pools are the most affordable to install. Though most vinyl pools come in a rectangular shape, it is possible to customize its shape, size and depth.
Semi-inground pools are a hybrid that can sit entirely above ground as well as halfway in the ground, or can be entirely buried in the ground. They are built to last using 14-gauge galvanized steel with inground panels measuring in length from 25 to 42 inches. They can be built into a slope in your yard making it blend into the scenery in a distinctive way. They also work well with decks as the height above ground can be adjusted.
Above Ground Pools
Above ground pools are placed entirely on the surface without digging into the soil. They come in two materials, steel and resin. An above ground pool cove is mandatory. This is a wedge of sand built all around the inside edge of the pool wall which works as the protective layer between the liner and the metal frame.
Gunite pools are a popular choice for pool buyers because Gunite pools use a rebar framework that is sprayed over with a concrete and sand mixture. They are highly durable and you can make the pool in any shape, size and depth. Another plus point with gunite pools is that you have a variety of finishes to choose from, such as plaster, pebble or glass, so that something unique can be created with every pool.
